These veterinary websites, organized by topic, are trusted and approved by our veterinarians and contain a wealth of helpful information for your pet. Pet Health

American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
This not-for-profit association was established in 1863 and represents more than 88,000 veterinarians. On this site, you can find hundreds of journals/articles on a variety of pet topics, ranging from pet diabetes, feline leukemia, and more.

American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC)
This clinical specialist organization for veterinary dentists provides information on pet dental health, including gum disease, home dental care for dogs and cats, dental cleaning, and information on the Veterinary Oral Health Council.

Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC)
An independent council of veterinarians, this organization was established to create guidelines for the best control of internal and external parasites. The site includes information for both dog and cat owners, including lists of common parasites and how to best prevent them.

Pet Health Network
Brought to you by IDEXX, this site provides information on dog health and cat health, including seasonal hazards, diseases near you, and recent pet news.

As Angel Animal Hospital’s rescue partner, this organization’s mission is to help dogs find loving homes. The site includes information on adoptable canines, adoption and foster applications, volunteer opportunities, and memorials.

Pet Loss/Grief Support

C.A.R.E. Pet Loss Support
This helpline is a confidential phone service offered through the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine for people who are grieving the loss of a pet or will be soon. On the site, you’ll find a list of online resources to aid in the grieving process.

Tuft’s University Pet Loss Support Hotline
Similar to C.A.R.E., this resource provides helpful information for grieving pet owners, including links to support groups, coping mechanisms, pet cemeteries, and books on coping with pet loss.
